Prostate Formula
Prostate Support
Prostate Formula addresses the three overlapping problems behind prostate health – DHT-driven tissue growth, oxidative stress, and inflammation – through twenty actives across three mechanism categories. At the center: the herbal trio most supported by clinical research – Saw Palmetto, Pygeum, and Plant Sterols – plus zinc, selenium, lycopene, and a broad polyphenol and mushroom layer.
Prostate health isn’t one problem – it’s three overlapping ones. DHT-driven tissue growth, oxidative damage, and chronic inflammation each contribute to the conditions that affect most men over 50. This formula addresses all three simultaneously rather than picking one lane.
The DHT layer – Saw Palmetto, Pygeum, and Plant Sterols.
Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens) inhibits 5-alpha reductase – the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT, the androgen that drives prostate tissue growth. It’s the most-researched herbal active for BPH, with trials showing urinary flow improvements comparable to early medication. Pygeum africanum bark reduces the growth factors that drive prostate cell proliferation and provides phytosterols with direct anti-inflammatory action in prostate tissue. Plant Sterol Complex delivers beta-sitosterol – the compound in multiple clinical trials showing improvements in urinary flow rate and bladder emptying.
The antioxidant layer – zinc, selenium, and lycopene.
Zinc concentrates in prostate tissue at higher levels than any other organ in the body, where it regulates prostate cell growth. Zinc depletion is consistently associated with prostate pathology. Selenium is the cofactor for glutathione peroxidase – the enzyme that neutralizes cell-damaging peroxides in prostate tissue. Lycopene is the carotenoid most studied in prostate cancer prevention research, with population data consistently showing inverse correlations between lycopene intake and prostate cancer incidence.
The anti-inflammatory layer – Green Tea, Nettle, Reishi.
Green Tea provides EGCG – the catechin with the strongest evidence for prostate antioxidant protection and cell growth inhibition in vitro. Nettle root binds to sex hormone-binding globulin, reducing the free testosterone available to stimulate prostate androgen receptors. Reishi’s triterpenes inhibit 5-alpha reductase and reduce androgen receptor sensitivity – adding a second 5-AR inhibition pathway alongside Saw Palmetto.

01
Prostate Mineral
Zinc
+
−
Zinc is concentrated in the prostate gland at higher levels than any other tissue in the body, where it regulates prostate cell growth and reduces the risk of malignant transformation. Prostate zinc levels are consistently depleted in prostate cancer. Deficiency is strongly associated with prostate pathology.
02
Antioxidant Enzyme
Selenium
+
−
Selenium is the required cofactor for glutathione peroxidase – the enzyme that uses glutathione to neutralize cell-damaging peroxides in prostate tissue. One of the most studied micronutrients in prostate cancer prevention research. Amino acid chelate form absorbs better than inorganic selenate.
03
DHT Reduction
Saw Palmetto
+
−
Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens fruit) inhibits 5-alpha reductase – the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT, the androgen that drives prostate tissue growth. The most clinically studied herb for BPH symptom relief, with trials showing urinary flow improvements comparable to early-stage medication.
04
Prostate Anti-Inflammatory
Pygeum Powder
+
−
Pygeum (Pygeum africanum bark) reduces growth factors that drive prostate cell proliferation and contains phytosterols that inhibit prostate inflammation. Clinical trials show reductions in nighttime urination and urinary urgency – covering the inflammation side of prostate support alongside Saw Palmetto.
05
BPH Symptom Relief
Plant Sterol Complex
+
−
Plant Sterol Complex provides beta-sitosterol – the compound behind clinical trials showing improvements in urinary flow rate and bladder emptying in benign prostatic hyperplasia. Beta-sitosterol is the active fraction; the soybean (Glycine max) source delivers a consistent sterol concentration.
06
EGCG Antioxidant
Green Tea
+
−
Green Tea (Camellia sinensis leaf) provides EGCG – epigallocatechin gallate, the catechin with the strongest evidence for prostate antioxidant protection. EGCG inhibits prostate cancer cell growth in vitro at physiological concentrations. The most extensively studied polyphenol in prostate cancer prevention research.
07
SHBG Binding
Nettle
+
−
Stinging Nettle root (Urtica dioica) binds to sex hormone-binding globulin, reducing the amount of free testosterone available to activate prostate androgen receptors. The root – not the leaf – is the form with evidence for prostate support. Addresses a different mechanism than Saw Palmetto's 5-AR inhibition.
08
5-Alpha Reductase Inhibition
Reishi
+
−
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum fruiting bodies) triterpenes inhibit 5-alpha reductase and reduce androgen receptor sensitivity – two mechanisms that limit DHT-driven prostate cell growth. Fruiting body extraction is essential for the triterpene fraction; mycelium-only products are significantly weaker.
