Probiotic 60B With Prebiotic
Microbiome Support
Most probiotics never make it to their intended target thanks to stomach acid. Not ours. This 60 billion CFU probiotic avoids this problem using a patented delivery system called MAKTREK Bi-Pass, which protects live cultures until safe arrival in your gut - where they can actually go to work.
This formula is ideal for daily digestive maintenance, keeping your system balanced while traveling, or helping to restore your microbiome after a round of antibiotics. For the most complete gut health routine, we recommend pairing this probiotic with Colostrum to fully support and strengthen your gut barrier. To help these beneficial bacteria thrive once they arrive, we also included a built-in food source consisting of 50mg of marine polysaccharides and 20mg of FOS.
Stomach acid is a brutally effective pathogen filter. It kills most of the bacteria you ingest – including probiotic cultures – before they ever reach the intestine where colonization happens. The dose on most probiotic labels is measured before gastric exposure, not after.
MAKTREK® Bi-Pass wraps each probiotic strain in a marine polysaccharide matrix that resists stomach acid and dissolves in the higher-pH environment of the small intestine, releasing live cultures where they can actually take hold. The difference between a label claim and a working product is whether the bacteria survive the journey.
Four strains. Four different jobs.
Different bacterial strains colonize different gut zones and do different things once they arrive. A single-strain formula is a single bet. This formula uses four research-identified strains that cover distinct mechanisms across the gut.
- Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14 – the workhorse. The most-studied probiotic strain in the literature, with evidence across immune function, lactose digestion, and competitive exclusion of pathogenic bacteria in the small intestine.
- Bifidobacterium lactis Bl-04 – the respiratory immune strain. One of the few probiotics with published clinical data specifically on upper respiratory illness incidence and duration. Most probiotic research stays in the gut; Bl-04 has data that crosses into the respiratory immune axis.
- Lactobacillus plantarum Lp-115 – gut barrier support. Reinforces the tight junctions that prevent bacterial toxins and incompletely digested proteins from crossing the intestinal wall into circulation. A compromised gut barrier is one of the more underappreciated drivers of systemic inflammation.
- Lactobacillus paracasei Lpc-37 – immune modulation. Shifts T-regulatory cell balance in a direction that reduces the overactive immune responses behind seasonal allergies and food sensitivities – a mechanism most probiotic formulas don’t reach.
Feeding what you’ve sent in
Getting bacteria into the intestine is half the equation. The resident microbiome is already established and competing for the same resources. Introduced strains need a substrate advantage to colonize rather than pass through.
FOS (fructooligosaccharides) are selectively fermented by Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium – the exact genera in this formula – without being meaningfully fermented by pathogenic bacteria. The complex marine polysaccharide in the MAKTREK® system does double duty: it protects the cultures in the stomach and functions as a secondary prebiotic substrate in the intestine. The strains don’t arrive into a resource-neutral environment.

01
Gut Colonization
Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14
+
−
Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14 is among the most studied probiotic strains – colonizing the small intestine and supporting immune function, lactose digestion, and competitive exclusion of pathogenic bacteria. The La-14 strain code specifies the research-grade strain with documented clinical outcomes distinct from generic L. acidophilus.
02
Respiratory Defense
Bifidobacterium lactis Bl-04
+
−
Bifidobacterium lactis Bl-04 is specifically researched for upper respiratory immune defense – the Bl-04 strain has published clinical trials showing reduced incidence and severity of respiratory illness. Colonizes the large intestine; one of the few probiotic strains with strain-specific respiratory immune data.
03
Gut Barrier Integrity
Lactobacillus plantarum Lp-115
+
−
Lactobacillus plantarum Lp-115 supports gut barrier integrity – the tight junction proteins that prevent bacterial toxins and incompletely digested particles from crossing the intestinal wall. One of the most resilient probiotic strains, surviving passage through the upper digestive tract at high rates.
04
Immune Modulation
Lactobacillus paracasei Lpc-37
+
−
Lactobacillus paracasei Lpc-37 is studied for immune modulation and allergy support – it shifts gut T-regulatory cell balance, reducing the overactive immune responses behind seasonal allergies and food sensitivities. The Lpc-37 designation specifies the clinically studied strain with documented immunomodulatory outcomes.
05
Probiotic Delivery
Complex Marine Polysaccharide
+
−
Complex Marine Polysaccharide is the carrier for the MAKTREK® Bi-Pass delivery system – it encapsulates probiotic strains, protecting them from stomach acid and delivering them alive to the intestines where they can colonize. Also functions as a prebiotic fiber that feeds the strains after delivery.
06
Prebiotic Support
Fructooligosaccharide
+
−
Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are prebiotic fibers that selectively feed Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus – the beneficial strains in this formula – without being fermented by pathogenic bacteria. FOS increases the probiotic strains' activity and numbers in the gut after colonization.
